Big Aunty Maths Quest is a test conducted under two categories to check the mental ability of the students. The senior category is for the students of classes IX and X, in which written exam is conducted based on class X CBSE syllabus and junior category is for classes VI – VIII in which MCQ based test is conducted to check their numerical ability. Schools can download and print the forms available at www.npschd.com, which duly filled and attested by the Principal have to be submitted before the last date.

NPS is a saga of rare courage and determination of our revered ‘Big Aunty’. We accolade the efforts made by her during her life time. The Maths Quest is being organized since 2002 in the memory of Late Shanta Harbans Singh. She was the Founder Principal of The New Public School. She started the institution with only 30 students in the year 1960. Her relentless efforts made this institution flourish into a Secondary School in 1969 and in the year 1991 it was upgraded to the Sr. Secondary Level. She was popularly known as ‘Big Aunty’ and retired in the year 1993. She was then inducted in the Board of Governors of the NPS Society. Establishment of the institution has helped thousands of inspiring minds achieve their desired objectives.

Late S.H.Singh was born on 15th January 1921. She completed her Matriculation in 1937 from Kinnaird College for Woman in Lahore. After doing B.A. and B.T. from Dev Samaj College, Ferozepur in 1951, she started her professional career as a teacher in Yadvindra Public School, Patiala. She hails from a family of renowned educationists. The family donated five acres of land in their ancestral village for a Middle School and another ten acres for DAV Sr. Secondary School at Qadian, Distt. Gurdaspur. Presently the family is also running a non profitable school “Riarky Public School” at their ancestral village Dhapai in Distt Gurdaspur.
